Night Among the Starts Volunteer night in Clarington
The Municipality of Clarington thanked volunteer groups for their tireless contributions to the community during ‘A night among the stars’ volunteer recognition event held on Tuesday night in Newcastle.

Among the night’s honorees, were 45 local community groups and their selected volunteers. The evening was a resounding success with some 275 people in attendance. Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster thanked the volunteers for their dedication and continued commitment to their organizations. Mayor Foster told the volunteers they were “building a caring, compassionate community.”

Three of our Newcastle and District Chamber of Commerce Members were recognized; the Newcastle Community Hall Board, the Newcastle Lions Club and the Newcastle Horticultural Society.

Also, local business Syvan Developments was named Business of the Year by the Clarington Board of Trade & Office of Economic Development.
